The world of tech is an exciting one, filled with multidisciplinary people who contribute to the growth and functioning of each tech company. Studies show that over 40% of jobs advertised by tech companies are non-technical roles, and it is important to highlight these.

She Techs Her Way is part of our 2025 Women’s Month campaign, where we highlight the incredible role women play at Integrove. Gia Monzeglio is the HR Manager at Integrove. She is one of the unsung heroes of the tech industry, who gives life to the start of many people’s tech careers.

A Career Rooted in People and Wellness

The people who work in tech are the ones who make up the industry, and having a people-first approach can easily lead to a workforce that excels.

“I’ve always cared about people, but I’ve also always been a softie,” said Gia as she reflected on choosing her career.

The two-time Industrial Psychology graduate found the course to be a perfect balance between people and wellness, and she has never looked back since.

“I chose to become an HR Generalist because I wanted to help people through business, not focus on statistics or the more clinical aspects of psychology,” she continued.

If you were to step into the Integrove offices on a day Gia is in, you would quickly realise how much she cares about people, as she spends much of her time chatting with colleagues and congratulating our incredible Integroovies on their successes.

“There’s no typical day, as our projects are so unpredictable, and our people even more so,” she jokes when describing her daily routine. “The day always includes a lot of admin and chatting to people, all day, every day.”

Encouraging More Women into the Tech Industry

Gia She Techs Her Way

In our previous article, we mentioned that women make up less than 25% of the global tech workforce. Bringing more women into the tech space is, therefore, a crucial focus for tech companies.

It made perfect sense for us to ask an HR Manager about the reasons that could contribute to the low recruitment of women.

“While we do get some applications from women, the numbers are far fewer compared to those from men,” she explained.

Due to the intimidating nature of the tech industry, typically associated with roles perceived as difficult, this lack of representation can unfortunately show up in interviews.

“When it comes to interviewing, we’ve spoken to many female candidates, and a lot of them come across as shy or reluctant to seem boastful about themselves,” Gia shared.

When asked what one of the core issues might be, she simply said, “It’s more of a confidence issue; how you show up for an interview is what sets you apart.”

Empathy as the Key to a Thriving Workforce

As part of our Youth Month, we mentioned that 91% of Integroovies would recommend the company to a friend, a true testament to the work culture at Integrove.

It’s clear that if a good work environment is created, people will have a pleasant time. We asked Gia what she believes contributes to these stats, and “empathy” was the word that summed up her answer.

“Our employees are not robots,” she said. “It’s important for us to have empathy towards them, as they will then be able to show the same to clients.”

The tech industry is currently going through its biggest shift in the age of Artificial Intelligence, but Gia believes that the future of women in tech will be even more exciting.

“I think roles and opportunities are changing so quickly, and now is a good time for women in tech to jump on board and shape it their way.”

When asked how She Techs Her Way, Gia responded excitedly, “Through people. There isn’t one path for everyone. It’s also about challenging outdated stereotypes. I’m not a developer or a data scientist, but I’ve been able to carve out my way in tech by making an impact through people.”
