She Techs Her Way

August is the month that the country celebrates the strides women have made in the past and today. At Integrove, we’re unveiling an exciting campaign that celebrates remarkable women in tech.

She Techs Her Way is a storytelling series that features four remarkable women from different departments across Integrove, Enterprise App Development, Mining and Engineering, HR, and Business Analysis. Each of them brings a unique voice, skillset, and perspective to the tech space. Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing their stories through weekly blog posts and “day in the life” video diaries, not just to highlight their achievements, but to inspire more women to see themselves in this industry.

23% of women in South Africa work in tech, and from this week, we’re proud to introduce the women behind the campaign and share a glimpse into how they each found their way into the exciting world of tech.

Meet Our Incredible Women

Zey Ngobese is a Software Engineer. A career expo opened the floodgates of the infinite possibilities of tech. “I was fascinated by how technology can be used to improve lives. Seeing how other countries were already leveraging tech to drive positive change sparked my interest, and I wanted to be part of that movement.”

Rethabile Mohapi, a Business Analyst, her love for people, structure and simplicity was the starting point for her. “I’ve always been that girl who pays attention to the little things… What excites me is taking something complex and making it make sense, turning needs into real solutions.”

In the Mining and Engineering capability, is Nkosazana Jameson. Studying chemistry in High School, paired with a practical, problem-solving mindset, was a launchpad for her. “For me, this path was never just about following passion or chasing practicality; it was about finding a way to hold both.”

And for Gia Monzeglio, HR became a way to bridge the gap between people and performance. “I wanted to help people through business… not just focus on statistics or clinical psychology. Being in HR in a tech company means enabling high-performing teams and supporting individuals who are passionate about what they do.”

Misunderstood, But Not Misguided

We know that from the outside looking in, people have their own thoughts about what people in tech do. Therefore, each woman also reflects on the misconceptions people often have about their roles.

“People think being a software engineer is just about writing code,” says Zey. “But it’s about collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. It’s designing and developing solutions that meet real-world needs.”

Gia challenges the outdated stereotype of HR as cold or corporate. “The best HR isn’t about choosing sides, it’s about aligning sides, building trust, and creating environments where people thrive.”

For Nkosazana, working in mining and tech means constantly explaining what “Operational Readiness” actually is. “It’s not just coding spares into a system. It’s a layered discipline that brings structure to complex environments.”

And Rethabile was quick to point out that being a Business Analyst is far more than documenting requirements. “I always say I’m part detective, part translator, part problem-solver, and that’s exactly why I love it.”

Redefining What Tech Looks Like

We truly believe that the industry is an exciting one, but what do they love most about being women in tech?

For Zey, it’s the impact, like creating systems that improve workplace safety. For Gia, it’s the opportunity to learn something new every day, even in a non-technical role. Nkosazana sees it as a space to grow, stretch, and thrive on her own terms. And for Rethabile, it’s about challenging the stereotype of what a “tech person” looks like.

They all agree: tech isn’t one thing, and it doesn’t belong to just one kind of person.

She Techs Her Way

That is why She Techs Her Way matters; at the heart of this campaign is a simple but powerful truth: there is no single path into tech, and that’s exactly what makes this space so full of possibility.

“She Techs Her Way means doing it your own way,” says Rethabile. “It’s about writing your own rules, even when the blueprint doesn’t exist yet.”

Whether through code, consulting, culture, or strategy, these women are helping shape the future of Integrove and showing others that there’s more than one way to make an impact in tech.

Throughout August, follow along as we share their stories. Because the future of tech is not just technical. It’s human. And it’s hers.
