As Integrove expands into a global organisation our commitment to community engagement remains an important part of our corporate DNA. We are proud to announce that we have launched several new community engagement initiatives in 2022, with more planned for the coming years.
We want to do our part in widening the technology skills pool and supporting our youth. Through our latest initiatives, we hope to give back to the technology sector and make a meaningful contribution to the future of South Africa, and the world.
Our 2022 Community Engagement Initiatives
The year started off with a bang for Integrove as we entered into several new partnerships with schools and colleges. According to the 2021 ICT Skills Survey, there remains a shortage of ICT skills required to help South African organisations succeed in the digital economy. This remains the biggest challenge in the sector this year. This is how Integrove is working to close the digital skills gap:
SSD Learnerships
SSD Training provides skills development and skills transfer for people living with disabilities. We are currently sponsoring and supporting 6 learners through their learning journey.
St Vincent School for the Deaf
Not only are technology skills scarce in South Africa, but there is also a considerable need for technology resources. This year we provided St. Vincent School for the Deaf’s entire matric CAT class with laptops to aid in their studies.
Richfield College Bursaries
Richfield College is one of South Africa’s leading IT and Business Colleges. We have partnered with them to provide bursaries to 8 learners to complete their IT qualifications. We also provide these learners with the opportunity to join our internship programmes.
Meerhof School
Integrove’s Nelson Mandela Virtual Challenge takes place in July every year. For every kilometre our employees run, walk, or cycle, we donate funds to Meerhof School for Disabled Learners. We raised over R20 000 for Meerhof in 2021 and we hope to improve on that in 2022!
Time Change Security
Our enterprise development initiative assists with providing funding and technical expertise to small businesses in South Africa. In 2022 we assisted Time Change Security with updated branding, a new website and equipment for their offices.
Looking forward
Our 2022 community engagement initiatives are only just the start of our journey. We hope to become more involved with our community and the technology industry by providing meaningful support where we can. Want to know more? Get in touch with us!
