We are excited to announce that Integrove is taking part in the first ever SAPHILA’s SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Hackathon hosted by the African SAP User Group (AFSUG). This is an opportunity to showcase the incredible SAP-related work that the company excels at.
AFSUG invited its members to submit business use cases that demonstrate the potential of SAP’s BTP and Integrove’s submission has been chosen as one of the top participants. The company has been an AFSUG member since 2024.
Integrove’s Managing Director, Costa Caravotas, says the company is “pushing the boundaries of innovation and delivering top-notch digital solutions,” and that was the motivation to participate, including showcasing the talent the organisation has.
“The SAPHILA Hackathon is a fantastic chance for our team to show off their technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in a competitive setting. It fits perfectly with our mission to use technology to drive meaningful business transformation,” said Caravotas.
Selected submissions will see the teams receive support from SAP experts and gain invaluable access to exclusive resources to aid with building their prototype.
Austin Reid, Brendon Bouwer, Nikiwe Sambo & Sipho Mpisana are the team members who will be working on Integrove’s SAP Hackathon prototype. They bring a wealth in SAP and integration expertise, which makes them the perfect team to head this project.
Austin was the mastermind behind the idea that the team is working on and said he is excited to “work with a different tech stack and gain some hands-on learning experience and growth.”
“We have some great minds helping bring this project to fruition and it’s always great to collaborate and learn from others,” continued Austin.
Sipho added that whilst he is excited about learning from other talented individuals and getting feedback from industry experts, he sees a need for their solution.
“I see our proposed solution making an impact by streamlining and bridging the gap between HR efficiency and employee engagement, making onboarding a smoother, more welcoming experience,” he said.
Brendon echoed Sipho’s points, by mentioning that the solution is practical and “by streamlining the employee onboarding process and leveraging the right technology on the SAP BTP Cloud platform, he believes it can improve the new hire and onboarding experience, efficiency, accessibility, and outcomes for new hires and HR administrators.”
He also mentioned that he is enjoying the process and the knows that “the skills, connections, and insights gained here will stay with me long after the hackathon ends.”
The team has until the end of April to work on their prototype before they demo it to a jury of SAP experts. If they are selected as one of the 8 finalists, they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their use case live at SAPHILA in June.
Integrove’s Managing Director, Costa Caravotas, says being recognised by SAPHILA “would highlight the incredible talent we have at Integrove and reinforce our position as leaders in digital innovation and enterprise solutions.”
“More importantly, it would show our ability to tackle complex business challenges with real-world applications.”
He had a few words to share with the team, saying they should “be bold with their ideas, and trust in their abilities.”
“You’re embodying the spirit of Integrove: innovation, collaboration, and excellence. This is a chance to learn, grow, and push your limits, enjoy the journey!”
We are excited to see the incredible outcome of this Hackathon and look forward to continuing to showcase the areas where the company excels.
